Welcome to “The Working Nurse”!
My name is Laura A., RN, BSN, MSN, MHA, SPHC/E.d. I have been a nurse for over 10 years. My experience ranges from the Adult world of Med Surg, Hematology, Oncology, Telemetry to Pediatrics including Med Surg, Intermediate, Telemetry, Cardiovascular Acute. I have a diverse background of bedside nursing, team leading, precepting, Clinical Nurse Dducator, Pediatric Nurse Manager and now a Program Manager of Clinical Education. I am also a part of the speakers bureau for the RAINN organization. My passion has been and is education which brings me to starting my own blog.
I have been through various classes, conferences, educational events, read through lectures, articles and everything under the sun. My goal is to make your first nursing job interview and 12 hour shift just a little bit easier. I believe that it takes creativity, fun even every now and then to jump into a hospital bed crib to get one’s attention for learning
Being a nurse in it self presents various challenges on a daily basis. This blog will share some of my own experiences and others in the health care field. Including, some educational blurbs that can help make our working days smoother. If you enjoy what you read, I invite to follow my blog. Thanks so much! So refill your coffee cup and enjoy.
